Dogs for Good Social Group
A new social group is piloting in the Forest of Dean. It’s for people living with dementia, their family members, carers and friends.
The Dogs for Good scheme have been training for weeks, overseen by founder and trainer Julia Winters, Dementia Community Dog Handler.
The dogs, who are the stars of the sessions – offering therapeutic activities, fantastic company, joy and happiness to those in attendance. As attendee safety is of paramount importance, the dogs have all been through a rigorous training and selection process and we would like to thank all the volunteers who came forward for selection.
The dates that the group will run in 2019 are:
· Wednesday 30th January, 2-4pm
· Wednesday 27th February, 2-4pm
· Wednesday 27th March, 2-4pm
· Wednesday 24th April, 2-4pm
· Wednesday 29th May, 2-4pm
· Wednesday 26th of June, 2-4pm
All sessions are at Drybrook Rugby Club, GL17 9EU.

The groups are run in collaboration between Julia Winters, Crossroads Care and the Forest of Dean Dementia Action Alliance.
Note: the group is scheduled to run between January – June 2019. If popular, the group will continue to run on a monthly basis.
