Active Living Hereford Win Regional Care Award
Crossroads Active Living Group in Hereford have been presented with the Care Innovator Award at the West Midlands Care Awards.
The annual ceremony celebrates the best practice and projects in care, and it was an absolute honour to be presented and recognised for the hard work and dedication of staff.
Claire (group lead), Gretel, Deirdre and Rosie run the group, and were delighted to be able to accept it on the night.
The nomination was because of a group project in Hereford, the team supported elderly people living with dementia to craft and create an amazing garden feature, named ‘The Old Trout.’
The boat had been left abandoned in a community garden, but with a bit of care, love and attention, was restored to a proud vessel which is enjoyed by people of all ages who are living with disability.
The team accepted the award, but recognised the hard work and time put into the project by the group’s attendees, because without their efforts it would not have been possible to complete.
