Hereford Active Living Boat Project

Our Active Living Group in Hereford are excited to be taking part in a brand new project!  They’ll be up-cycling an old boat, which is currently looking a little bit worse for wear!

Since finding its current home away from the waters it would once have sailed, the boat has been used as a bit of a dumping ground, unloved, unkempt, and left out in all weather conditions.

It was Claire Smeeth, leader of Crossroads Active Living Group (Hereford) who first thought of the idea, asking its owner if she could start her little project.

Our Active Living Group runs once a week in Hereford at the Aspire Community Hub.

Alongside other groups, such as a Men’s Shed and Craft Club, the Active Living attendees will be giving the old vessel some much needed attention.

They started by clearing all of the rubbish out, before sanding it down and moving it with help from the Men’s Shed.

The groups will all be making their mark on it and once it has been painted and decorated, the boat will be filled with grow bags for planting.

Crossroads Active Living Group is aiming to complete the project by July the 11th, so it can be entered into Hereford in bloom.
