Forest of Dean Spring Half Marathon

We’re proud to congratulate eight runners from Crossroads Care, who successfully completed the Forest of Dean Spring Half Marathon this weekend.

Nadina, Jake, Claire, Deborah, Julie, Hayley, Elaine and Sally all trained hard, through snow, wind and rain, raising money for Crossroads services to adults and young people.

So far, the team have raised over £1000, including online and offline donations.  You can still donate by visiting our JustGiving page.

The event was due to take place on Sunday the 18th of March, but due to the snow, was cancelled and re-arranged for Saturday the 7th of April.

The weather was better, but the rain made the already challenging terrain and conditions even harder, but that didn’t stop anyone from crossing the line and completing the run.

Money raised by the team will go towards purchasing a Raizer Chair that will help people who have had a fall in their own home.  The Raizer Chair helps the fallen person to get back to their feet safely.  Money will also go towards youth clubs for children with autism in the Forest of Dean.
